Affenzahn children's rucksacks are the perfect companion for everyday adventure. They offer enough space for a lunch box and water bottle - and of course for their favorite cuddly toy. Thanks to the size and height-adjustable belt system and the chest strap, our backpacks offer an ergonomic fit and are designed for the height of toddlers and preschoolers. The shoulder straps and back are well padded to make carrying as comfortable as possible. Our rucksacks are designed to be particularly lightweight, as small children should never carry more than 10% of their own weight on their backs. The reflectors ensure that children are clearly visible even in the dark. Several compartments keep everything organised and the buckles are easy to open, even for small children's hands. Thanks to the robust material and the dirt and water-repellent surface, Affenzahn children's rucksacks are durable. Due to its size, we recommend the Small Friend as a starter backpack for 1.5 to 3-year-old toddlers starting daycare. When the children get older and excursions are also planned, the Large Friend also offers sufficient space for this. The larger rucksack model is suitable for preschoolers from around the age of 3.

With a capacity of eight liters, the Large Friend offers around twice as much space as the Small Friend. The Large Friends from Affenzahn also have a few other features for playing and additional pockets for organizing: Velcro paws - Flexible front pocket - Outer pockets - Treasure pockets.

The materials we use for our Affenzahn children's rucksacks are water and dirt repellent. If dirt does get in, the children's rucksacks are easy to clean. Our products can be safely cleaned with warm water at 40°C. We recommend that you take the term "hand wash" literally and clean our backpacks in a washing bowl (or in the shower) using a sponge and a mild detergent only on the soiled areas. We do not recommend washing in the washing machine. As our materials have a water column of at least 1500 mm and are therefore highly water-repellent, the water cannot penetrate the fabric but simply flows past it

We use fabrics made from 50% recycled PET bottles. Three PET bottles are used for the Small Friend and six for the Large Friend. We use fabrics certified by bluesign®. This ensures that harmful chemicals are avoided throughout the entire production process

We try to develop and manufacture every product in such a way that its impact on people and the environment is as low as possible. For example, we ensure that no toxic chemicals are used in our materials and that they are manufactured in a way that conserves resources as much as possible. Our social responsibility is also important to us, for example we make sure that workers in our factories are treated well and paid fairly.

Our Affenzahn backpacks are water-repellent, which means that water rolls off the material. The material can withstand a light summer rain. In heavy rain, water can get through the seams, so you should protect your small or large friend from heavy rain.
